Q. Where can I find a quick overview of this site before signing up?
A. There is a Play Intro Video tab on the Home Page navigation bar. This 30-second video will give you a quick overview of the various features of the site.

Q. What is the "Connect With Facebook" option to sign up for an account?
A. If you have a Facebook account then signing up to MyAdventures.com just got that
much easier for you! Just click it, enter in your password under your email address, which should already be there, and you're all set! If you do not have a Facebook account, don't fret, just click on the Sign-Up Link. Standard sign-up is easy and it's FREE!

Q: What does "Connect with Facebook" mean?
A: Connecting your account on Myadventures.com with your Facebook account allows you to share trip reports and photos you post on this site over onto your Facebook account as well, making certain that your posted adventure updates can be seen by as many friends as possible

Q. What was the motivation for the creation of MyAdventures.com?
A. You'll find an explanation for this on the About Us page and even more elaboration on The Adventurers Club of Chicago page, the organization whose membership inspired the development.

Q. Where can I find members' reports about adventures I'm interested in?
A. Choose from either the seven major categories lined up on the home page over the scrolling pictures, or select from one of the forty+ sub-categories that make up the actual scrolling picture bar. Select a category interest (such as "Across The Terrain") and then select a sub-category activity that interests you (like "Mountain Climbing")! To the right of the picture that appears you’ll find a line that says, “Find a friend interested in…”. Click on that for a list of members who share your interest.

Q. Where can I find specific information about a Global location I'm interested in?
A. Head to Geographical Interests and then select the continent of your interest. From there, select from the three offerings: Find a friend…, Read latest news…, Read latest trip reports…
Or—simply click on the name of the continent within the picture on the left and you will be taken to Wikipedia for complete topographical and political details of the country.

Q. Where can I find helpful references to resources such as Gear, Guides & Outfitters as well as Publications (both offline and online) pertaining to the 40+ adventure categories displayed on the site?
A. Just click on Explore Resources which appears as a tab in the top navigation bar on the home page. A drop down box will provide both Gear and Publication listings as well as listings for Worldwide Adventure Clubs and Role Models.

Q. How easy is it to find and/or make friends of similar interests here on the site?
A. The quickest way to find kindred spirits, or friends with similar interests, is to choose from the seven major adventure categories displayed on the home page and then select your particular passion from the forty+ sub-categories displayed in the drop-down boxes. Or you can select from the 40+ scrolling pictures. Then click on your choice and you will be taken to that specific page where you can learn more by clicking on the first of the three links: Find a friend… Then read the Search People profiles till you find someone of interest. Click on their name, and when taken to their Profile click on the Send Message box (which won’t be visible unless you’re Signed In).

Q. Where on this site can I find advice on planning my new adventure?
A. Just about EVERYWHERE! There are several places you can begin your search, but here are a few to get you started: Click on the Stories tab in the navigation bar on the home page which will take you to a member’s Profile. On the member’s Profile page you’ll find Trip Reports, Photos, Videos, a personal Blog, and the members Info. By becoming a member, you can even contact them through a Send Message box under their picture. As for the resources you may need in your planning stages there are hundreds of listings to be found by clicking on the Explore Resources tab to be found also in the navigation bar on the home page. This area lets you examine our publications listings and our gear, guide and outfitters listings, plus access to bios on Worldwide Adventure Clubs and Role Models.
