Bio

  • I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. I love everything about it there from the green hillsides to snowy Mount Rainier to the rocky coastline but somehow I always knew it wasn't where I belonged. I first moved to southern California to go to college and then to Virginia. My senior year I expanded even farther by studying abroad with Semester at Sea, a program that allowed me to visit 10 countries and gain a whole new perspective on the world.

    After graduating in 2007 with a BS in History I moved back to Seattle but I constantly had an unsettled feeling inside. It wasn't long before I started to look for work elsewhere. That's how I ended up in Thailand. I am now in my second year teaching at an english school in a suburb of Bangkok and I can't see myself anywhere else right now. My position allows me to truly experience a culture as well as travel quite frequently and photograph the world around me.

About Me

  • My Most Memorable Experience:
    Seeing Mount Everest for the first time. We had just spent 3 days of "hell" hiking and acclimatizing. When I made it to the crest of the mountain and saw Everest (along with Lhotse and the beautiful Ama Dablam) looming in the distance. I felt a great since of awe and accomplishment.
  • My Dream Adventure:
    Year long round the world trip involving backpacking through Europe, hiking in the Andes, overlanding in Africa, the Trans Siberian Railway. I would be quite an adventure indeed.
