Breaking camp at 2 in the morning to make to the Grand Canyon in time for the sunrise. AMAZING!
Best Part Of Event: The sunrise illumniating the colorado river.
Worst Part Of Event: packing up camp in the middle of the morning.....good god... but it was worth it.
What I Would Do Differently: Bring a video camera.... the scene needs to be done to the theme of space odyssey...
Special Preparations: VIDEO CAMERA REQUIRED!
What Happened: After a 24 hour road trip to camping grounds just outside of Flagstaff Arizona, we broke camp at 2 in the morning much to the dismay of our camping compatriots.

Driving through pure darkness, killing two suicidal jackrabbits which darted from the edges of the road, we made it to the eastern edge of the crevasse.

Too dark to see what was out there, the morning light slowly illuminated the scene before us. As a first site of the Grand Canyon, it was spectacular. You just don't quite get the majesty of the feature until you're there.
