Family Hunt for plains game
Best Part Of Event: Getting to see the Namibian country and the game animals in natural settings, Seeing the excitement on my daughters face when she took her Zebra with the last bit of light left for the day. My wife, getting a very large red hartebeest.
Worst Part Of Event: The Greater Kudu that eluded me, and tracked him for 3 days.
What I Would Do Differently: I would definately break the flight out into 2 legs and stay in Europe over night, fly directly into Windhoek and avoid Johanesburg Airport the place is a zoo.
Special Preparations: If you travel in the winter, June in Namibia it gets cold bring a warm jacket. It was in the low to mid 30's in the morning and quite chilly at night in an open vehicle.
What Happened: There was a year long build up of excitement and planning. We were getting ready for what would surely be a once in a lifetime event. The whole family together for a safari to Africa. A month to travel to 4 countries, starting in South Africa, to recoup from a 18 hour flight. Then to Namibia to Hunters Namibia to spend a week hunting. Zebra, Black Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest, Gemsbuk, Greater Kudu.
