Trekking to Machu Picchu in Peru should be one of the to-do list priorities. The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu has become the perfect way to arrive at the ancient Inca monument. Unfortunately the access has been restricted and only 500 hundred people are allowed to start the hike per day. This number includes porters, guides and cooks. Only around 200 permits are allocated for tour hikers. Check for inca trail permits and make a reservation as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Well paddle through one of Asias most amazing landscapes: the limestone karsts of the Khammoune Range whose grotesque shapes resemble a Lord of the Rings fantasy. After trekking a remote valley, well paddle through a 7.5-km. (four mile) long cave. Farther downstream, well hike through another cave to explore a lost city. We; then move into the 4000 Islands of southern Laos, spending many days paddling in and around Southeast Asias largest waterfalls, through a flooded forest, and watching dolphins feed near the Cambodian border. In October 2007,led by reliable Nepali guide Pasang, a group of trekkies from Singapore, headed for several days of hiking in Annapura range, using the basic Ghorepani-Gandruk trail. We had an exciting and interesting time. The air was fresh, the skies were clear, the stars stared at us every night, the mountains were majestic - all for less than an airticket to New Zealand!

The name of this group of gorillas is Kwitonda which in turn is the name of the silverback. The total number of mountain gorillas in the world is estimated between 600-700. Here in Rwanda where Dian did her work, the estimate is around 380. NOTE: The recent discovery of 100000+ gorillas in the Congo were lowland gorillas.
