Trekking to Machu Picchu in Peru should be one of the to-do list priorities. The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu has become the perfect way to arrive at the ancient Inca monument. Only around 200 permits are allocated for tour hikers. Check for inca trail permits and make a reservation as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. In October 2007,led by reliable Nepali guide Pasang, a group of trekkies from Singapore, headed for several days of hiking in Annapura range, using the basic Ghorepani-Gandruk trail. The name of this group of gorillas is Kwitonda which in turn is the name of the silverback. The total number of mountain gorillas in the world is estimated between 600-700. Here in Rwanda where Dian did her work, the estimate is around 380. NOTE: The recent discovery of 100000+ gorillas in the Congo were lowland gorillas.
