Hurricane Ike was over 300 miles in the distance and traveling away but the surf and weather conditions at the fishing pier park in Juno Beach Florida on the evening of 9/8/2008 attracted surfers. The water was murky with bait fish around the pier and large nurse sharks have been seen caught off the end of the fishing pier where the wind speed was recorded.
