Suzanne Nance

Suzanne Nance is the only American female to have climbed the highest mountain on each of the 7 continents and skied the Last Degree of both the North and the South Pole, thus circumventing the Globe; the Adventure Grand Slam. Nance is a both a personal trainer and Life Coach. She first started her training business for friends who asked for help in reaching and attaining their athletic goals, primarily, marathons and triathlons. She expanded her scope by including her training of first time marathoners and newcomers to fitness. Through fitness, diet, mental and spiritual exercises, she has helped people gain a better sense of self, reach specific goals, and live a healthier life style.

Natasha Illum Berg

What makes Natasha stand out from the crowd is her vocation. Raised in Sweden she has been a fully licensed professional hunter in Tanzania since 1999. In between safaris she has written several popular books most of which have been published in many languages. Born to Danish mother Marianne Illum Berg and Danish / Swedish father Iens Illum Berg. One sister, Karina (now married) Stiernblad (1965) Brought up on family hunting estate / wildlife reserve “Eriksberg” in Blekinge, Sweden.

Helen Thayer

Helen Thayer has skied to the magnetic North Pole, lived among wolves in Alaska, kayaked in the Amazon, walked across the Sahara, and represented three countries in track and field. She is the author of Polar Dream and Three Among the Wolves and the recipient of countless awards, including the esteemed Vancouver Award from the Explorers Club. Thayer was names “One of the Great Explorers of the 20th Century” by National Geographic and is the president of Adventure Classroom, an international educational project.

Fiona Claire Capstick

Fiona was born in South Africa, where she became an officer in the armed forces, seconded to the military intelligence division as a multilingual translator and interpreter. She is currently serving as a sworn translator to the High Court of South Africa. Her late husband, Peter Hathaway Capstick, was the author of highly acclaimed safari accounts such as Death in the Long Grass and Safari: The Last Adventure. Her husband Peter, was a good friend of Keith Bates, founder of MyAdventures.com.

Bruce Barcott
Seattle-based Contributing Editor Bruce Barcott isn't afraid to get dirty in order to find a good story. In his October 2004 piece for Outside about amateur archeologist, Jack Harelson, entitled "The Killing Bones," he was forced to explore a cave and found himself elbows deep in bat guano.

Jon Krakauer
In May 1996 Krakauer joined an expedition to summit Mt. Everest. A storm blanketed the peak after they successfully reached the summit. And on the descent, four of five of Krakauer's teammates died. Peter Matthiesson
His efforts to publicize the plight of Africa's ecosystems led to his receipt of the African Wildlife Leadership Foundation Award in 1982. Matthiessen was twice nominated for the National Book Award before winning it in 1972 with The Snow Leopard, the story of his pursuit of an extremely rare Asian leopard in the remote Dolpa region of Nepal and Tibet.
