MyAdventures.com LLC ("MyAdvens" or "we") operates MyAdventures.com. This Privacy Policy describes MyAdvens use and sharing of Member Submitted Information ("MSI"—the content you have chosen to provide in your Profile). The expression "User" refers to a Visitor or a Member. This Privacy Policy applies to the services offered by MyAdvens and includes all MyAdvens branded URLs. MyAdvens services are hosted in the United States.
From time to time MyAdvens may modify this Privacy Policy to reflect industry initiatives or changes in the law, our MSI data collection and use practices, the features of the MyAdvens Services, or technology, and such modifications shall be effective upon posting by MyAdvens on the MyAdvens Website. Your continued use of the MyAdvens Services after MyAdvens posts a revised Privacy Policy signifies your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. It is therefore important that you review this Privacy Policy regularly to ensure you are updated as to any changes. If MyAdvens materially changes its practices regarding collection or use of your MSI, your MSI will continue to be governed by the Policy under which it was collected unless you have been provided notice of, and have not objected to, the change.
Collection and Submission of Information
General. When MyAdvens collects MSI from you it is because you are voluntarily submitting Registration MSI to us in order to register as a Member of MyAdvens. MyAdvens may also collect MSI from you if you choose to participate in MyAdvens Services activities like sweepstakes, contests, and surveys, because you want us to furnish you with products, services, newsletters, or information, or in connection with content or suggestions you submit to MyAdvens for review. In addition, MyAdvens collects other non-MSI including IP address, aggregate user data, and browser type. This data is used to manage and improve the MyAdvens Services, track usage, and for security purposes. MyAdvens Members may also choose to provide or store non-MSI information in their profiles. The Profile Information in a Member's profile is provided at his or her sole discretion.
MyAdvens Members can change their Registration MSI and Profile Information at any time and can control how Visitors, other Members and MyAdvens communicate with them by controlling their account settings, available within the "Edit Profile" portion of their MyAdvens profile.
The use of cookies: A cookie is a small bit of information that is stored on a user's computer for record-keeping purposes. We use cookies on the MyAdvens website simply to identify your Internet browser, store user’s preferences, and determine whether you have installed the enabling software needed to address certain material on the site. However, we do not and will not use cookies to collect private information from any Member or other user of the MyAdvens website which they did not intentionally submit to us other than as stated in this Privacy Policy. A pixel tag is a tiny image inserted in a webpage and used to record the number and types of views for that page. MyAdvens may allow third party pixel tags to be present for purposes of advertising, providing services or data and statistics collection. You can program your computer to warn you each time a cookie is being sent, block third party cookies or block all cookies. However, by blocking all cookies you may not have access to certain features on MyAdvens.
Children
MyAdvens does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to register for MyAdvens or send any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, or email address. No one under age 13 may provide any personal information to or on MyAdvens. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. Sharing of Information
MyAdvens is about sharing information with others - friends and people in your networks - while providing you with privacy settings that restrict other users from accessing your information. We allow you to choose the information you provide to friends and networks through MyAdvens. Our network architecture and your privacy settings allow you to make informed choices about who has access to your information. We do not provide contact information to third party marketers without your permission. We share your information with third parties only in limited circumstances where we believe such sharing is 1) reasonably necessary to offer the service, 2) legally required or, 3) permitted by you.
Use of Information by MyAdvens
MyAdvens will only use the MSI you provide under this Privacy Policy in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy. If MyAdvens obtains MSI from a third party, such as a business partner, our use of that information is also governed by this Privacy Policy.
In order to locate other MyAdvens Members that you may already know in the physical world, MyAdvens allows Users to search for Members using full name or email address. MyAdvens also allows Users to browse for certain Profile Information in order to help connect with Members (i.e., adventure travel organizations and/or companies where Users may have participated or worked). MyAdvens may also enable Members to publicly display some Registration MSI as an element of their Profile Information if they choose to do so via a profile setting under "Edit Profile." Search engines may index the portion of a Member's profile (including the Profile Information it contains) that is publicly displayed.
MyAdvens employees, agents and contractors must have a business reason to obtain access to your MSI. MyAdvens may share your MSI with those who help us manage or provide MyAdvens information activities (for example, message board administration, order fulfillment, statistical analyses, data processing), or with outside contractors, agents or sponsors who help us with the administration, judging and prize fulfillment aspects of contests, promotions and sweepstakes.
These outside contractors, agents or sponsors may temporarily store some information on their servers, but they may only use your MSI to provide MyAdvens with a specific service and not for any other purpose. MyAdvens may also provide your MSI to a third party in those instances where you have chosen to receive certain information and have been notified that the fulfillment of such a request requires the sharing of your MSI. MyAdvens also may share your MSI with Affiliated Companies if it has a business reason to do so.
Within limits MyAdvens may customize the advertising and marketing messages you receive on the MySpace Website, or may work with outside companies to do so. Your non-MSI and/or Profile Information may be shared with these companies so this customization can be accomplished. MyAdvens prohibits these companies from sharing your non-MSI and/or Profile Information with any third party or from using it for any other purpose. Anonymous click stream, number of page views calculated by pixel tags, and aggregated demographic information may also be shared with MyAdvens advertisers and business partners.
When a Member who is located in the European Union chooses to post Profile Information that will be publicly disclosed, that Member is responsible for ensuring that such information conforms to all local data protection laws. MySpace is not responsible under the EU local data protection laws for Member-posted information.
Third Party Advertising
Ads that appear on MyAdvens are sometimes delivered (or "served") directly to users by third party advertisers. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens. These third party advertisers may also download cookies to your computer, or use other technologies such as JavaScript and "web beacons" (also known as "1x1 GIFs") to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content. Doing this allows the advertising exchange or network to recognize your computer each time they send you an advertisement in order to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content. In this way, they may compile information about where individuals using your computer or browser saw their advertisements and determine which advertisements are clicked. MyAdvens does not have access to or control of the cookies that may be placed by the third party advertisers. Third party advertisers have no access to your contact information stored on Facebook unless you choose to share it with them.
This privacy policy covers the use of cookies by MyAdvens and does not cover the use of cookies or other tracking technologies by any of its advertisers.
Security
The MyAdvens account of every Member is password-protected through VeriSign Security. MyAdvens takes every precaution to protect the information of the Members, as well as information collected from other users of the MyAdvens website. We use industry standard measures to protect all information that is stored on our servers and within our database. We limit the access to this information to those employees who need access to perform their job function such as our customer service personnel. Terms of Use
Your use of MyAdvens, and any disputes arising from it, is subject to this Privacy Policy as well as our Terms of Use and all of its dispute resolution provisions including arbitration, limitation on damages and choice of law. We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use at any time. Non-material changes and clarifications will take effect immediately, and material changes will take effect within 30 days of their posting on this site. If we make changes, we will post them and will indicate at the top of this page the policy's new effective date. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email, or through notice on our home page.
